Observatorio Astronómico Sobradillo
The Sobradillo Astronomical Observatory is actively engaged in astrophysical research across several key areas. One primary focus is the study of stellar evolution, with a particular emphasis on the final stages of stars and the detailed analysis of the planetary nebula phase. These investigations contribute to a deeper understanding of stellar transformation processes and the life cycle of stars.
Additionally, the observatory participates in exoplanet search projects and the identification and monitoring of near-Earth objects (NEOs), efforts that expand our knowledge of planetary systems and space safety.
In parallel, studies are conducted on light pollution and the evolution of night sky quality, particularly in response to changes in public lighting systems and the growth of new industries in the region. These studies are essential to promoting the preservation of dark skies and understanding the impact of human activity on the visibility of astronomical objects.
